On November 15, 1977, the first children attending the premiere of Passe-Partout had no idea that they would be the first of among many millions more. And that same Passe-Partout generation could never have imagined in their wildest dreams that their own children, in their carriages and strollers, would also get to experience this same landmark event 40 years later in a rebooted version designed to meet the needs of kids today.
Passe-Partout is more than just an educational program for preschoolers. Not only is series both entertaining and stimulating, it also prepares kids with the tools they need for when they finally do go to school. It helps them to build their self-confidence, to respect themselves and others, to learn how to express their emotions, to open up to the world, and to use their social, motor, and language skills.
Passe-Partout was a major influence on kids in the 1970s and 1980s, and that kind of influence is just as necessary today. In fact, it’s needed more than ever for preparing children for kindergarten and to increase their chances of success as a number of recent studies clearly show.
Télé-Québec has always made a special effort to stimulate the interest and awareness of young audiences. The network is very proud to present an updated version of Passe-Partout, one that a whole new generation of kids will be able to identify with.
