A bunch of guys from Montreal’s NDG neighbourhood, all born in 1966 and who grew up together, decide to challenge themselves by crossing America on Route 66 in 2016 to celebrate turning 50 in a way they won’t soon forget. These friends since kindergarten join forces to create a unique experience. The epic journey will cover 3945 km from Chicago to Santa Monica, California. Jean-Loup, Pierre-Luc, François, Mathieu, Nicolas, and Normand will motorcycle their way across eight states and three time zones. In the process, the six friends meet some real characters whose lives have been shaped by Route 66, and who reveal their secrets and the past they spent along “The Mother Road.” The 50th year pilgrimage quickly becomes the adventure of a lifetime. From the vibrant Chicago blues to the infinite expanse of the Pacific Ocean at Los Angeles, the guys take the Pontiac Trail, the Chain of Rocks Bridge, pass through St. Louis on the Devil’s Elbow bridge, cycle through ancestral tribes and territories, Oklahoma, Amarillo, Santa Fe, Gallup, and finally feast their eyes on the grandest prize of them all, the Grand Canyon.
